I think I have been for more local neighbourhood walks these last few weeks than I have been outside all year. What with the awful weather we’ve had seemingly none stop for months now. I think I’ve taken advantage of every single minute of beautiful sunshine we’ve had, in between. And with good reason.
After a miserable start to Thursday the afternoon turned out beautiful so yes, I put on my walking shoes, grabbed my iPhone and went off in a different direction than normal, and hiked the back streets till my feet were tired. And I’m glad I wore a collared polo shirt as I caught the sun alright while out. I may even have the start of a light tan.
So, what did I find on my walkabout this time?
I found a lovely smelling vibrant pink rose in someone’s garden and, by a tree, a lovely looking (but probably non-edible mushroom). And this lovely tree with a vine growing on it. Will you look at that gnarly bark.
Also …
The daisies (Marguerites?) are still blooming like crazy in the corner garden.
I then had a fascination with all the wonderful trees I was seeing so …
I do love how they’ve made a lot of the streets one-way and added bike lanes and parking. This really makes these streets a lot quieter and fun to walk/ride around.
Just look how empty this road is? We really do have quiet neighbourhoods around here. And you, what’s it like where you live?
You live in a beautiful place! It’s so fun to walk around and enjoy the things closest to you. I love how intentional you are about finding the beauty. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the things you see every day.
They really do love their trees around here which makes for lovely walks. Something I am so appreciative of because, as you say, it’s easy to forget the simple things here, in front of our own eyes.
You live in a wonderful area!
All mushrooms are edible. Some only once. 😉
Yes, I do, something I’m eternally grateful for.
Ha! Ha! Yes, they are. And as you say, some only once.
